Miso Caramel Brownies

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Step 4
In a small bowl, whisk together the miso paste and caramel sauce until smooth. Dollop the miso caramel over the brownie batter and use a knife to swirl it into the batter.
Step 5
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
