Celebrating Women’s History Month

Highlighting the Winn-Dixie suppliers and initiatives that support our local communities.

Winn-Dixie is proud to celebrate Women’s History Month by sharing the stories of our women-owned suppliers while also detailing initiatives that are impacting the local communities we’ve been serving for over 90 years.

Supplier spotlights

Skinny Latina

Skinny Latina started as a made at home marinade when I was a busy young lawyer with two small children. It was a time saver for preparing meals and friends often asked me to make it for them. At some point I decided to sell the product to consumers. Over the years I’ve grown the brand to include 8 better for you sauces and marinades with a Latin flavor profile that our customers really enjoy. We are always creating new recipes and meal ideas to help customers engage with the brand and make quick, simple, and healthy meals for their whole family.

Winn Dixie stores are where my family has always shopped from the time they arrived from Cuba in the 60’s. SEG carries many brands that appeal to the Hispanic community as well as emerging brands that speak to consumers who look for healthy and unique products. I especially love that SEG partners with their vendors to help them grow.

Partake Foods

I started Partake for my daughter, Vivi, and the millions of people across the US living with food allergies and dietary restrictions. All Partake’s offerings are certified gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan and are free of the top 9 allergens (wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, soy, fish, sesame and shellfish). Our crave-worthy cookies are made with better-for-you ingredients and offer a variety of flavors that those with and without dietary restrictions can enjoy.

We’re on a mission with SEG to help customers feel good about Partaking in delicious, worry-free snacks throughout SEG’s communities.

Jackson Family Wines

From the inaugural vintage of Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay in 1982, Jackson Family Wines is a family-owned winery with 50+ wineries spanning throughout California, Oregon, Washington Italy, France, Australia, and South Africa. Jackson Family Wines are stewards of the land, and believe in taking care of the land, it will take care of you. Though they’re the largest landowners in California & Oregon, they leave 60% of their estate vineyards left unplanted and in their natural state and are leading the industry in their Sustainability efforts.

We love working with SEG, as not only are they a well-known and well-respected brand that provides great quality and value to their customers, but they also give back to the community and are true partners with Jackson Family Wines.

Harmelin Media

Harmelin Media was founded as a Philadelphia agency in the shadow of Madison Avenue; a media-only firm in the golden age of full-service ad agencies; and a woman-owned business in an industry known for a“Mad Men” culture.

Building this expertise and getting results is a major reason we’ve grown into one of the largest independent media agencies in the country, and our female leaders played a big part in this success. Our staff is 65% female. Our CEO, President, COO, Managing Director, and the heads of our digital media and broadcast media groups are all women.

We’ve used our position and strength to support other women-owned enterprises, by endowing a grant through the WBENC to award capital to emerging businesses and sponsoring board seats for other small, women-owned firms within industry trade groups.

The collaboration and chemistry across our teams [SEG and Harmelin Media], it truly defines the word “partnership”. Our teams work seamlessly together to solve SEG’s business challenges through smart, strategic media solutions.
