STEWING PORK

PORK Cuts

Pork for Stewing:

  • Boneless Sirloin Chop
  • Boneless Country Style Ribs
  • Bone in Country Style Ribs
  • Baby Back Ribs
  • Whole Pork Butt
  • Butt Steaks
  • Spare Ribs
  • Back Ribs
  • Smoked Hocks
  • Leg Cutlets

Utensils:

  • Tongs
  • Spatula
  • Platters (prep and serving)
  • Meat Thermometer
  • Digital Thermometer
  • Dutch Oven or Crock Pot

Instructions:

Stovetop:

  • Combine cooking liquid and seasonings in Dutch oven or slow cooker.
  • Preheat Dutch oven or slow cooker to medium heat.
  • Add pork to cooker.
  • Cover and bring ingredients to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low and let contents simmer until pork is cooked to desired internal temperature of 160°

Oven:

  • Preheat oven to 325°
  • Place contents into Dutch oven as described above and cover.
  • Cook for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • Cook until meat is fork tender.
